Ten days after the announcement made by the State Council to cut the interest tax rate from 20 percent to 5 percent and that by the central bank to raise file interest rate by 0.27 per-centage point, on July 30 the central bank, for the sixth time this year, ordered lenders to retain 0.5 percent more reserves with the central bank as of August 15.
